Healthy LifeA healthy lifestyle is important for everyone. A vegetarian lifestyle has been promoted for a healthy lifestyle and weight loss ; vegetarians should check with their physicians to be sure they are getting enough vitamins , minerals , and iron in their food. Eat a variety of different whole foods instead of eating processed foods. 10 Whole foods offer a balance of healthy carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and other nutrients.

Healthy snacks help children and young people meet their daily nutritional needs. PacificSource is the proud sponsor of the University of Oregon and Oregon State University Civil War Series. The Civil War sponsorship provides a platform to promote the Healthy Life Challenge to people at both Universities and within our communities.

Each week, SEE for Yourself will post the Healthy Monday challenge in the daily announcements and CHEW’s peer health educators will be somewhere on campus with tips and giveaways. At the Y, we work with community leaders to make the healthy choice the easy choice in all of the places where people live, work, learn and play.

Get to know your local market – not only because the food is fresh, varied and cheap (especially just before closing), but also because it’s an enjoyable and friendly way to shop and meet people. If near enough, walk there with a shopping trolley, so you get some exercise and fresh air too. For example, if you feel drowsy in the mornings, arrange to exercise in the afternoon. If you regularly crave sweet foods, keep fresh fruit or fruit snacks around the house instead of biscuits.

The Australian Guide to Healthy Eating recommends that a healthy diet should include a wide variety of nutritious foods for sufficient intake of all nutrients, including vitamins and minerals. Foods to include are breads, pastas, lean meats, fish, fruits and vegetables.
