Healthy LifeThe Healthy Lifestyles program seeks to address weight-related health problems for children by offering caring providers, family-centered treatment programs, highly trained educators and researchers, and strong community partnerships. It is helpful to know what foods are healthy and what you can do to ensure you eat the healthiest diet you can. Having a variety of foods, eating regular meals, including wholegrains, fibre, fruit and vegetables, and limiting the amount of fat, sugar and salt you eat are all recommended for good nutrition.

Our clients are now able to pick and choose particular programs to improve the health, lifestyle and fitness according to the specific needs of their workforce. When combined with the Nutritiouslife healthy eating initiatives within the Tastelife program, we ensure a healthy, happy and productive workforce resulting in lasting positive effect on the individual and the workplace.

1 Eat ‘primally’ Common sense dictates that the best diet is one based on foods we’ve been eating the longest in terms of our time on this planet. These are the foods that we’ve evolved to eat and are best adapted to. Studies show that a ‘primal’ diet made up of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, as well as meat, fish and eggs, is best for weight control and improvement in risk markers for illnesses, such as heart disease and diabetes. This ‘go primal’ food philosophy will enable you to cut through the marketing hype and dietary misinformation, and allow you to make healthy food choices quickly and confidently.

Pick a ‘quit date’ and stick to it. Make sure to choose a day where you’re less likely to be under pressure. Plan something nice to occupy your time. Quit Victoria suggests taking a couple of weeks to prepare. Attempt some practice runs – try not to smoke on occasions when you normally would (e.g. work break times and at the pub). Instead, go to places that have no association with smoking. Ditch your lighter and refuse any offers of cigarettes.

Smoking and asthma is a dangerous combination. People with asthma and those around them shouldn’t smoke.
